Book & lyrics by Teague Shattuck

Teague Shattuck
Teague Shattuck (they/he) is a writer, director, performer, musician, and visual artist from San Jose, CA. Teague moved to Portland, OR to study Anthropology at Reed college, culminating in a thesis exploring the political impacts of pregnant trans men on television (remember “The Pregnant Man” on Oprah?... Teague’s seen it over 50 times). Teague is the founder/director of the Portland chapter of the annual Trans Voices Cabaret and has performed in musicals with Lakewood Theater Co., Bridgetown Conservatory, Fuse Theatre Ensemble, the Broadway-bound musical “The Rosetta Project”, and more. Teague is a recipient of the national LGBTQ+ Point Foundation Scholarship. He is interested in writing stories where marginalized people are resilient and human, relationships are at the center, and they better be damn funny or he wouldn’t watch them himself! “Everybody’s Eyes are on The First” is Teague’s “first” musical (how aptly titled).

Music & lyrics by Naama Friedman

Naama Friedman
Naama Friedman (they/them) is a musician, vocalist, songwriter, and collaborator who has been studying piano for over twenty years, which got them into music, then singing, then writing. They performed in plays and musicals from childhood all the way through high school and college, and eventually fell in love with composition. Naama has written two full-length original musicals – REWRITTEN_ (2021), an a capella musical about finding community in times of deep loneliness, and Letter to the Editor (2022), a musical about grief and the nonlinearity of time, both of which were produced and performed through Reed College in Portland, OR. Naama is especially interested in telling stories through song beyond just words: the textures, harmonies, and theory that builds into why we perceive a character a certain way. They are overjoyed to be on this project getting to build the themes of these rich characters that occupy overlooked spaces in our world today.
